Requirements for Residency

Residence Permit by Entrepreneurship (PR)

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm in digital format.
• Copy of the passport (main page and page with the entry stamp to Serbia).
• Copy of the white card (Prijava boravišta stranca).
• Health insurance.
• Diploma with a court translation of the main page (grades do not need to be translated).
• Copy of the decision (rešenje) and confirmation (potvrda) on company registration.
• Extract from the APR (Business Registers Agency).
• Copy of the long-term apartment rental agreement (all family members must be listed in it).
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) for the apartment (can be replaced with a copy of the purchase agreement).
• Copy of the landlord's read ID card (očitana lična karta).
• Registration consent (izjava) from the landlord.
• Bank statement showing available funds — 1,200–1,500 EUR per person.
• State fees per person: residence permit approval — about 24,000 RSD, biometrics and card production — 3,978 RSD (1,788 + 2,190). Paying by card online adds a bank commission. Please note: state fees may change.

Residence Permit by Real Estate

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm (digital for online submission, 2 printed copies for offline submission).
• Copy of the passport (main page and page with the entry stamp to Serbia).
• Copy of the white card (Prijava boravišta stranca).
• Health insurance.
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) showing you as the owner. If the change of ownership has not yet been entered in the cadastre — a copy of the certified purchase agreement (or gift agreement, inheritance decision, etc.).
• Bank statement showing available funds — 1,200–1,500 EUR per person.
• State fees per person: residence permit approval — about 24,000 RSD, biometrics and card production — 3,978 RSD (1,788 + 2,190). Paying by card online adds a bank commission. Please note: state fees may change.

Residence Permit by Family Reunification (Spouse)

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm (digital for online submission, 2 printed copies for offline submission).
• Copy of the passport (main page and page with the entry stamp to Serbia).
• Copy of the white card (Prijava boravišta stranca).
• Health insurance.
• Copy of the apartment rental agreement (all family members must be listed in it).
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) for the apartment (can be replaced with a copy of the purchase agreement).
• Copy of the landlord's read ID card (očitana lična karta).
• Registration consent (izjava) from the landlord.
• Court translation of the marriage certificate.
• Statement from the main applicant committing to support the family — or, if the spouse has their own account in a Serbian bank, a statement from that account showing at least 1,500 EUR per person.
• Copy of the main applicant's bank statement showing available funds (if you do not have your own account) — 1,200–1,500 EUR per person.

Residence Permit by Education

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm (digital for online submission, 2 printed copies for offline submission).
• Copy of the passport (main page and page with the entry stamp to Serbia).
• Copy of the white card (Prijava boravišta stranca).
• Health insurance.
• Confirmation of enrollment in an accredited higher education institution (potvrda o upisu). Issued by the faculty's student office (studentska služba); it must state the start date and duration of studies, with dates for the current academic year.
• Copy of the apartment rental agreement (all family members must be listed in it).
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) for the apartment (can be replaced with a copy of the purchase agreement).
• Copy of the landlord's read ID card (očitana lična karta).
• Registration consent (izjava) from the landlord.
• Copy of the bank statement showing available funds — 1,200–1,500 EUR per person.

Consent is not required if the other parent is unknown, deceased, or fully deprived of parental rights or legal capacity; in case of sole custody, the final court decision is attached.

Residence Permit for Child (Family Reunification)

• Registration consent (izjava) from the landlord.
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) for the apartment (can be replaced with a copy of the purchase agreement).

Residence Permit by Employment

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm in digital format.
• Copy of the passport (main page and page with the entry stamp to Serbia).
• Copy of the white card (Prijava boravišta stranca).
• Health insurance — not required if the salary amount is stated in the employment contract. If a policy is needed, it is taken out for one year, even if the permit is requested for three.
• Employment contract offer (predlog ugovora o radu).
• Decision of the National Employment Service (NSZ) approving the employment.
• Statement from the employer confirming they are ready to hire you.
• Extract from the rulebook on the organization and systematization of jobs; if the company has fewer than ten employees — instead, a company statement with the job title, description, qualification level and special conditions.
• Court translation of the education document.
• Copy of the long-term apartment rental agreement (all family members must be listed in it).
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) for the apartment (can be replaced with a copy of the purchase agreement).

Residence Permit by Unmarried Partnership

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm (digital for online submission, 2 printed copies for offline submission).
• Copy of the passport (main page and page with the entry stamp to Serbia).
• Copy of the white card (Prijava boravišta stranca).
• Health insurance.
• Copy of the apartment rental agreement (both partners must be listed in it).
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract (list nepokretnosti) for the apartment (can be replaced with a copy of the purchase agreement).
• Copy of the landlord's read ID card (očitana lična karta).
• Registration consent (izjava) from the landlord.
• Copy of the passport of the partner you are joining and, if available, their read residence permit card.
• Court translation of both partners' certificates of single marital status.
• Statement from two witnesses confirming that you live together, certified by a notary. The witnesses can be of any citizenship.
• Statement from the main applicant committing to support the family — or, if the partner has their own account in a Serbian bank, a statement from that account showing 1,200–1,500 EUR per person.
• Copy of the main applicant's bank statement showing available funds (if you do not have your own account) — 1,200–1,500 EUR per person.

Permanent Residence (PMŽ)

• Color photograph 3.5×4.5 cm (2 pieces).
• Copy of passport: main page, page with the last entry stamp to Serbia, and pages with residence permit stickers.
• Copy of health insurance or read health booklet (očitana zdravstvena knjižica).
• Autobiography in Serbian (court translation is not required).
• Court translation of the birth certificate. This requirement may be absent in some cities.
• Diploma with court translation of the main page (grades do not need translation). This requirement may be absent in some cities.
• Copy of the apartment rental agreement (all family members must be listed in it).
• Copy of the real estate cadastre extract, or a copy of the purchase agreement or another official document confirming ownership rights.
• Copy of the read ID card (očitana lična karta) of the property owner.
• Copy of the registration permission from the property owner.
• Bank statement showing sufficient funds. There are no strict limits, but the recommended amount is 1,500 EUR per person.
• If you have a sole proprietorship, provide a copy of the company registration decision, APR extract (izvod iz APR), and company bank statement for the last six months.
• If you own real estate, provide a copy of the purchase agreement, cadastre extract, and tax office certificate confirming property taxes are paid.
• If you are officially employed by a Serbian company, provide a copy of the employment contract. In some cases, an APR company registration extract is required.
• Court translation of the marriage certificate if applying with a spouse.
• Court translation of children birth certificates if applying with children.
• State fee: 24,800 RSD per person. It includes: 16,550 RSD main fee + 420 RSD online payment commission + 7,808 RSD for biometrics and card issuance, paid before biometrics.
